I think it's shallow to only be attracted to someone because of their looks. That's why you like someone else now... because you got bored. Do what you want. If you don't care about your boyfriend then you shouldn't care if he gets mad at you for liking someone else. I'm positive he'll be upset when you tell him... but don't stay with him just in spite of it.
