I met a wonderful guy 5 months ago at a gathering who loved me at first sight. I also met his mother at this gathering for the first time without even knowing they were related. Her and I seemed to get along well. The guy approached me first and ended up coming over to my home to get to know me and my family better. It turns out that his mother and my mother go way back, but my father was the cause of ruining their friendship between his mother and mine because he always complained about my mother to her. Therefor, she thinks my mother is evil. My father has currently been out of my life for almost 3 years now and I have nothing to do with him. Once the guys' mother found out that her son wants to get engaged with me, she freaked out and began acting overly protective towards her son and told me in front of him that she didn't care to get to know me etc. That didn't stop him and I from keeping our relationship going. He lives in another city 4hrs away and we keep in touch through phone. Him and I have strong feelings for each other and want to move to the next level but find it impossible due to his mothers' actions. Sometimes she'd grab the phone from him and ask me to leave her son alone. How do I go about this relationship if his mother doesn't like me and doesn't care to get to know who I am?
its complicated try to settled things out with her and try to solve this matter if you want to move to the next level or even stay with him , try to get you're mom and his mom together and try to work out on the whole problem its the best way ,
wow sounds almost like that move monster in-law lol I'm sorry and its hard being with someone and the parents not like you or the person you are with. Just sit you boyfriend down and ask what you can do to get though to his mom, maybe even sit her down and ask what her problem is. Or you can not be with him (which I'm sure you don't want to do! and I don't blame you) or you can ignore it. either way something needs to be done or it will put a strain on you and your boyfriend
