It's pretty obvious that a 40 yaer old man would want a 20 year old wife as opposed to a 40 year old one but why would a 23 year old man be attracted to a 17 year old female when he is so mature, wise, humble and strong? Wouldn't he want someone that was at his level that he could rely on?
A 23 year old guy might WANT a 23 year old woman, but the 23 year old woman is getting to the point where she wants a guy who is established with money and a home. And if he's 23, he's not likely to be at that point yet.
Most likely, the reason the 23 year old guy is with a 17 year old is because he knows that she isn't too picky yet and that she isn't likely to reject him anytime soon. And if they are together for many years, by the time she herself is 23 he'll be 29 and have money and a home, making the two of them a suitable match for each other.
As far as 40 year old guys go, they want a 20 year old woman for the same reason a 20 year old guy wants a 20 year old woman: because she's young and hot. But no one will get on the 20 year old guy's case about wanting a 20 year old woman. However they'll get on the 40 year old guy's case about it just because he's 40.
Maturity isn't the same as age. Can you not maybe believe that they would actually be mutually interested in each others personalities or bodies? It's not illegal in some states if they are 17, so if it doesn't break the law, why give a crap?
Older, younger, same age. Who gives? I don't care if I sound arrogant, I want that the woman in my life, regardless of whether she is 18 or 50, is just like me, a winner.
I am here to improve myself and help other people if I can. For me, age is almost irrelevant. Society likes to limit your choices by frowning upon age-gap relationships. Just look at: Catherine Zeta Jones-Michael Douglas, Ashton Kutcher-Demi Moore, Joan Collins (in her 70s)-husband (in his 40s), Hugh Hefner and his Playboy Girls, etc.
Most likely that he likes the way she looks, or he has the whole bigger brother complex
Complete longshot here.
But maybe he's a bit insecure about his ability to court girls his age. I know that as a senior in highschool I am more attracted to younger girls (sophomores/juniors) because I feel safer approaching them because of my 1-2 years of age on them.
It's weird but I have the greatest trouble flirting with girls my age, its definitely harder in my book, and requires more practice.
Besides, the fact that you are older is a +1 for guys
I'm a little better than 40 and I have absolutely no interest in a 20 year old wife, girlfriend, or mistress.
As for your 23 year old guy; maybe the 17 year old has the attractive qualities he's looking for. I agree that there's a bit of an age difference and they're probably not on the same level, but he's into the physical attractiveness I guess.
If he's 23, he's likely none of those things, but just appears to be. At 17 I dated someone I thought was about to turn 23, but found out a year later he was actually a year older! He said he didn't think I'd give him a chance if I knew (he was right). One thought -- he probably thinks (even if it's subconscious) that you are "safe" -- you're more than likely not interested in getting married any time soon! (in addition to likely having the "body" of a 17-year-old. need I say more?) There are some smooth guys out there -- Be careful!
I would think that he is attracted to her because he either feels insecure with girls his own age or he likes younger girls. But. if this guy actually goes for her it's kinda against the law isn't it?
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and just like the last year and the year before, you will most likely spend it with your family. And just like everyone else, you have a crazy uncle or an...
