My boyfriend and I agreed to break up because we felt like we were drifting apart. We spent two miserable weeks apart and then he showed up at my house and we ended up making out. We both agree that we miss each other and want to get back together but he's afraid we'll have the same problems as last time so he says he needs time to think and I said I'd wait for him and he said that made him happy. How can I prove to him that things will be different this time cause I really love him and that things will work out this time?
You need to get specific with him as to what will be different. Just saying 'things will be different' is easy. Relate to him an understanding of what he disliked about the relationship to have it lead to wanting to be apart. Some of that may be a feeling of being too close. Girls generally like this more than guys, who appreciate more freedom and elbow room (in general).
