There's this guy I've had a crush on for more than a year. We're really good friends and we have a lot in common. I don't want to ask him out/tell him I like him because it's perfect the way we are for now.

But his best friend asked me out a couple of months ago and I turned him down, but he's still supposed to have a thing for me. I've been told that guys consider their best friend's flames out-of-bounds. Is that true? When I do get it into my head to have a relationship, I want to know if my crush has a chance of asking me out.

Yeah I can't say for everyone, and certainly not every case, but if one of my friends likes a girl, she's off limits for the rest of us, that's just how it is, with us. But, if it doesn't work out between them, then maybe, but not if he still likes her or really liked her!
