My boyfriend and I had been together for five years, but he always changed the subject when I brought up marriage. One night, I broke down and told him that I thought we should either get married or split up, but he didn't respond well to the ultimatum. A month or so later, we were having dinner at my favorite waterfront restaurant when we got into a huge argument. I started crying, so I grabbed his jacket and ran outside. I was standing on the dock outside wearing his jacket when he came out and asked me to give it to him. I said no, but then he reached out and started to take it off of me. For some reason, I got really pissed off and threw it as far as I could into the water. He started freaking out, and when I finally got him to calm down, he told me there was been an engagement ring in the pocket. How I can make it to him?
You kinda first pushed him into marriage so he took bit time to think about it. Though in this kind of situation you never know was he really ready for it. If he loves you he won't bother about that 500 000 euros ring (Much at least :D!). He should also understand what you felt the moment and you would never even quessed about the ring.
My advice for what happened- GET IN THE WATER!1! Nah really. You didint tell how did things go eventually. Did you get the ring back or what?

Pff, I pity the both of you if you get married. Nothing good can follow from half hearted decisions ( he was clearly pressured into it ). Also you are batshit crazy and you will/have undoubtably drive/n him crazy. If you ever have kids make sure to tell them its not their fault that they had severe emotional trauma because you broke up violently during their early years.
That's actually quite hilarious (not for you of course). Something you'd see in a movie. Must of been upsetting for him. How did he react. I would certainly of been upset.
It's quite tricky really. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone being in such a situation and I can't think of a way of making up for it exactly but truly showing him how much you care for and love him. Perhaps reverse the engagement? You ask him? Sounds strange, but it's a way of saying sorry.
