Has anyone successfully and happily gotten back together with an ex?

doesn't work. Because you broke up for a reason, and that reason usually gets masked but its still there.

Ex's are Ex's for a reason!

She was mental. Depressed, suicidal, the lot. I broke up with her when I found out, and she got really desperate; I thought I could help her. I couldn't.

Let's just say she got some counseling in the end.

im back with my ex and this is the 2nd time so far its been a lot better but ill let you no in about a month

I have gone back out with 2 different exes, and both times they did not work out in the end. I had a much better relationship with my one ex when we dated the second time, but some things never change and nothing will change that (quoting a Built to Spill song ;P ). I still see that ex on a friends with benefits basis, and things are pretty niceee with that. : )

Yeah I've gotten back with a couple exes. Usualy it doesn't work out. Can the reason you broke it usually comes back around down the line after your all made up and everything. And then you think WTF was I thinking being back with them...

yeah. I got back together with an ex b4... but only because I ended up feeling sorry for him.. and trust me, not only did it obviously not work out in the beginning, middle, or the end.. I regret it even today.. ugh! he was just too imature and just seriously pissed me off!

I'm back with my ex, but we were young and the reasons we broke up were superficial. Of course, some things never change, and its pretty much a challenge every day and we work at it, but even if it doesn't work out in the end, right now it's worth it.

I got together with my ex on two occasions. I think he had commitment issues though and it really hurt me in the end. He broke up with me once then asked me out again, I said yes. Then he broke up with me cause one of his friends claimed I came onto them (which I never did). Pretty much he let his friends run our relationship on his end. Then finally we were supposed to go to a formal school dance together & he stood me up. I asked him about it the next day and him & his friends laughed in my face.
So, pretty much, it was a bad idea. Then again, I mean every guy is different. Maybe this guy is worth getting back together with? Maybe he's changed and is able to carry on a relationship with you? Just don't let him get control of everything. Also, think about why you guys broke up originally, is it something you have/can get over?

Nope cause there must have been a reason for it not working in the first place, a lot of the time those reasons/things/habits do not go away. They might while both are "trying" but then once get back to old self, well nuff said!

yes, me and my ex broke up, and we got back together, now that me and him are more mature, and ready for a serious relationship, and now were soooo in love with each other

most likely not because I felt strongly against getting back with an ex.

but this thing I'm going through now... its different. I want my ex back and he wants me back but we both know its wrong.

my ex broke up with me after a year and got back with me 3 months ater, than a year later he broke up with me for pretty much the same resons again...ugh its been 5 months now

I say that it did work out in the end, but only because I am still in that relationship. My ex and I got back together after just a week of being apart (and during that week we were still seeing each other and sometimes having sex). When we got back together our relationship was a lot better but we still have problems naturally. They're just different problems than the ones we had the first time around. And I don't know if it "worked out in the end". It's only been a month since we got back together and for all I know, it will end in a second. I have no idea.
