Me and my boyfriend broke up 6 months ago and he have been off and on as friends. I always start the friendship and he agrees. Once he told me that he won't mind losing his current girlfriend but doesn't want to lose a friend like me. But he had broken our friendship once cause she (current gf) didn't trust us to be friends. Anyways now I called and decided to be friends. Well he's gone on a winter vacation and he called me telling me he is leaving, which was less then 30 seconds. He called me when he was there but went to voice mail. On the voice mail, He told me to call him back or he will call me. He called two times after leaving the voice mail that but I missed them aswell. I called back and he was sleeping (time differences). He told me he will call me back but he didn't. I called back exactly a week later he quickly told me it was nothing he jus wanted to say he arrived safely and then asked how I was doing but then some one walked in and he had to cut the phone. Well since then its been abt 1 week (long distance so I don't think he going to call.)
But what I want to know is how can I get him to call me more and mayb meet me more. The day we broke up the understanding and the comfort we had between us I want our current friendship to have tht same level of comfort and understanding and I would tell him that but I am not sure if he said yes to become friends again because he thinks he doing some type of charity work on me. I mean he knows I still love him and before he left I asked him to meet me once so I could get everything off my chest (but I didn't because whenever he is around, just his presence, I feel like everything in the world is perfect... there is not problem in life) I told him that when my mom was in the hospital that the first thing I did was call him but I cut the line before it could ring and I don't know why out of every one in the world I called him. However that same night (the day we met) I text him if we could be friends and I called the next day to get my answer. he was with his girlfriend that day and quickly told me yes about the text (he couldn't say friendship cause his girlfriend was there). So I don't know why he said yes, is it humanity or he really wants to be friends. I texted him recently telling him that I know why I called him the day my mom was in the hospital because he was there when I had my problems before and I expected him to be there for me again. But no reply from him.
Update: And one more thing when we meet he told me he doesn't love his girlfriend (his ex girlfriend when we were going out. now current girlfriend) he is just with her for the hell of it (she cheated on him and that how she became his ex).

Update: (Cont) He says he's happy with her and I am happy that he is happy but he also told me that he knows he can't marry her (not that he doesn't want to but there are problems why they can't).

Update: The thing with my mom it just happen to come out in the conversation and I didn't want him to have that in his head. I didn't wnt him to think that he has to be friends with me cause of that. I wnted his decision to b his own. I gues I should jus ask him.
