Ok so if you're dating someone, casually or not, is it alright for them to hang out with friends of the opposite sex? What if they've known their friend(s) longer than they've known you? I know most of you said guys and girls are never just friends, but if it's strictly platonic on your girl/guy's end, why is it an issue?

I would never give up my friends of the opposite sex because of a relationship; if a girl tells me that she has a problem with me going out with my female friends, then I'll just simply dump that girl. By the same token, if she had male friends that she is hanging out with, I'm not gonna tell her, 'don't hang out with your male friends...' A relationship is based on trust, and if you can't trust your significant other to hang out with her/his friends, then is no relationship at all.

Boyfriends/girlfriends come and go but friendship last forever. I have tons of guy friends. If I dated a guy that made it an issue he would have to go. If I am dating you, I am dating you. If I wanted to date my friend you would not even be in the picture. I have platonic friendships that I have partied with and slept in the same bed. So, yes there are guy/girl friendships that are platonic.. And I am hot...So, basically the boyfriend would have to go if it was an issue.

I have guy friends that I've known since I was 11. There has never been anything but friendship between us. I could never sacrifice that friendship for a boyfriend but that's just my opinion.
