This guy and I were interested in each other but he was living with his ex. So I wouldn't date him until she left. After seeing no signs that she was going to leave I finally met this other guy who asked me on a date. When I told my male friend about my date he told me he thought I was smart and funny and it was no wonder I had a date. Later, he called to tell me he had to his ex she had to leave his apt. Well, she came back for the rest of her stuff the next day and they drank and she wound up destroying some of his stuff...He called me upset and I came over to spend the night with him. He asked if I still liked him and would I go out with him because he liked me a lot...I asked if he was still drunk or if he meant it and he told me he'd kicked his ex out solely to be able to date me because he knew the guy I was going to go to dinner with would like me and he'd lose his chance to date me. Then he told me he wasn't that drunk...and that he'd remember this conversation in the morning. Nothing has changed in the way that he treats me - not that I expected anything to change he is always sweet and kind to me. But not mention of the other night has come up-I haven't seen him since because we've both been working but he calls me everyday like always. But then he went out and spent the night somewhere and wouldn't tell me where...Are we dating? Or should I ask him about the other night? Whether or not he was too drunk or really meant it or not...I don't want to come off as insecure or anything when I ask him so how do I find out???
No I don't believe you guys are dating, and I think you should give the guy you blew off a date with a chance. The guys you are trying for seems like he still has feelings for his ex, or now that he is "free" he's going to want to go out and have fun. Kind of like why he won't tell you where he went, I have a feeling he just doesn't want you to know something. Somethings are just not meant to happen.

They usually give me that "what an idiot" look. And then I laugh and let them know that I am aware that the line is bad, but it's worse to not meet someone that you are interested in.
