Last night my boyfriend and I weren't together, and we are strictly in a no alcohol, no drugs, any of that. But last night I decided to drink a little, it wasn't much at all. Though with me never drinking it didn't really take much for me to get a buzz, and really all it did was make me sleepy. I don't know why I did it. I was feeling really down last night is all that I know.

When I talked to him later, I decided that I should be honest and just tell him. He was so pissed, and hurt. Should he have been? It's not like I was out partying, I was actually at home.. but he told me he lost some respect for me, it really hurt.

Has anyone else here lost respect by doing something?

It depends why you both decide to go with not drinking or drugs.

I know that I would not loose respect for someone (girlfriend or not) if the partook in some recreational drinking. on the other hand if drinking was taking over their life that would be a different story.

Why do you guys not Drink?

Question Asker We've just never really liked the idea of drinking unless it be occasional. I think the main reason he got upset was because he didn't believe me when I said it happened at home. =\ - 10 months ago
Answerer If this was just a every once in a while time of drinking there is no reason he should be upsetor loose respect for you. the only way I would be upset is if you were a recovering Alcoholic and drank or there there was a promise made to only drink with him - 10 months ago

There's nothing wrong with drinking as long as you don't drink everyday!! But drugs I don't agree with at all...!!!!! I lost the respect of a guy by being a complete idiot and saying something immature about his man hood while I was drunk which I didn't even mean but like he won't listen to me I don't know why I said it. I can't blame it on alcohol because I said it not the drink...but drinking is good once you know your limit.

Its the trust that you guys had. No I have never lost respect from a guy, but it happens everyday. I would just tell him if you were a dishonest person you would have never told him in the first place. He should respect you for that.
