My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and some odd months, and we love each other. He's great but he's very selfish (and I can see that it comes from him parents because they baby him a lot). And lately he's mean a lot. A lot of the time its just little things that he may not think are mean, but really bother me, and when I tell him that it was mean of him he doesn't seem to understand why what he just did was wrong, and when I tell him he doesn't see my point.
He does joke around with me a lot but even when I know he really is joking I just wish he didn't feel it was necessary because it really bothers me after a while. I feel like I need a better way to communicate with him and to let him know how I feel so that he doesn't get mad and can try and change for the better.
Ditch him or deal with it. Chances are he's not gonna change, especially if he was that way when you met. You can try talking but if he doesn't feel he was wrong, I have a feeling your gonna have a hard time convincing him otherwise. Good luck.
Just tell him. straight out and tell him. if you don't speak up he's just going to continue to do it until you get soo pissed that you leave him. tell him how you feel. I had to do the same thing with my boyfriend but with him he took for granted that I love him and would do anything for him. once I told him I mean I ended up crying to but that actually showed him how it made me feel and he changed and everythings been perfect. so my advice just tell him whats been bothering. like sit down for a serious person to person conversation.

What pickup lines do you use to start a conversation with someone you are attracted to?
I usually try to use humor to break the ice (no not stupid jokes or creepy sexual innuendos) I'll usually ask her a question about a class (if she is in one of my classes) or about something else. I might also comment on her clothing or smile, or something.
Once after that I'll tell her my name, and get a conversation, I'll usually tease her a little to ease any tension

Well, it's worked 2 times and I've used it 2 times.. so 100% so far!
In one case there was girl in my class and she worked at the bookstore. I asked her if she liked the class and she said she didn't know. So I teased her about not knowing her own opinion, (nothing mean, just light humor) after that we got talking and I ended up getting her number.
