My crush/guy friend and I have the most random conversations ever. Most of them are absolutely hilarious. The only thing is that my guy friend does most of the joking. He just has a totally obvious sense of humor. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it overpowers my subtle and sarcastic sense of humor. Whenever I make a joke, he doesn't realize that it's a joke and that makes things slightly awkward between us. If we're texting and I make such a joke, he'll stop replying all together. Like, a few weeks ago he was saying that he was looking for a new job but couldn't find one in the town he lives in. Because I live in a different town, I jokingly told him that he should move to where I live because I heard several places were hiring like crazy. I know, not the best of jokes or anything, but it was totally a sarcastic remark. The point is that I say things like that all the time without him realizing it. He takes everything I say to be serious and it kinda messes with the comfort level of our conversations sometimes. What can I do to make him realize that I'm often joking around with him?
