My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and 5 months. His mom hates me. She thinks I'm taking him away from her. We're ready to commit with a promise ring but I don't want the drama that was in our relationship to affect the step we're about to take. What should I do?
When I was on the dating scene I had this rule: If I didn't want to marry the girl by the time a year passed, I was out. If you 2 are heading that direction remember this part of the vows, "To forsake all others". It is true that when you marry someone, you marry their family too. However, the husband/wife becomes numero uno above all others. Your man should stand by you, defend you, love you unconditionally. His mother had better learn to deal with it
Thanks a lot. Yes we are heading to marriage. - More than a year ago

Good luck to both of you. One thing that might help is to include her in a few more things or for you to take initiative in creating plans where the moms is involved. - More than a year ago
Try to make a mends with the Mom. But, also you are not marrying her you are marrying her son. She will come around. They always do. Just love your boyfriend and be happy. Don't worry about the drama.
