Hair and eye color rarely dictates if a guy finds a girl physically attractive.

She's a brunette; is intelligent; is smarter than me, but not entirely serious.

i don't give a damn, if she is hot she is hot, no matter what hair color she has, the thing I have for blondes isn't their hair, its their parts being pink, that's what I'm after, and there are blondes that look as trashy as hell and don't have the pink parts thing because of their genetics, meanwhile you can find brunettes with reddish hot skin and pink parts, its not about the head hair color anymore.

It depends for me, I kind of like more of a darker blonde, kinda in between blonde and brown, or like my ex girlfriend who had kind of auburn colored hair, but really I'll take anything except really light colored blonde or black hair. As far as the style is concerned I think its always been that way it just depends on what's in style and what look is popular, and now its probably more towards the darker hair

as a natural blond, I can attest to the fact that I've always found it rather boring, boiler plate, run of the mill. Just plain old blah. I've developed more a thing for redheads.

Blondes got a chip on their shoulder. Blondes tease brunettes please. This is a generalization but it seems to be true about 80% of the time. Some people really like blondes but I just don't find them that attractive nothing wrong with it just not my thing. It helps that brunettes are 90 percent of the women in the world. I have a bit of a preference for Latina women so I can't not be pro brunette. If you survey men around the world a few in Africa Asia and Latin America might say blondes because they saw them on TV but most men's ideal will be a enhanced version of the girl next door. So if say 25% say blondes and 70% say brunettes blondes are still more desired per capita. Blondes are only like 3% of women but five times as many men are after them. So yeah there has been a slight change in the perception of beauty. We have become less racist. Latina Black Mediterranean Slavic Native Asian women are being seen as more attractive curvier women are becoming attractive again amongst the average Joes and they probably always have been especially amongst men of color and men from the working classes regardless of what the fashion industry thinks( news flash average Joe doesn't give a rats ass about the fashion industry and is sick of Paris Hilton. The hottest celebrity to me is America Ferrera star of "Ugly Betty" So blondes are starting to be knocked off their pedestal a little but there still there and will continue to be because they are rare and that's good I hope this little gene continues because variety is nice but its time to recognize there's nothing less beautiful about dirt colored hair and the rest of us in the world don't have to worship at the alter of blonde exclusiveness

Well no offence to blondes but when I think of blonde girls I automatically picture a 5 foot nothing huge breasted bimbo. I am quite aware that this isn't the across the board case but still that's what I think of. Not to say I'd never be interested in a blonde girl if she was intelligent and nice. Also I find bleached blondes kind of trashy. Works with some but for one thing they're probably just doing it to be more attractive which doesn't really do it for me.

Not me I prefer redheads. (which is really weird, because I'm a redhead, though red hair on a male is stupid as hell). Luckily my girlfriend isn't a redhead (at least not naturally). Could you imagine the poor child of two gingers... it'd be an albino! A vampire! It'd melt if daylight hit it.

I think the "guys prefer blondes" concept was an overstatement from the beginning. I don't know exactly how it got to be regarded as gospel truth.

Go back to classic Hollywood, for example. For all the blonde bomshells (Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Lauren Bacall), there were just as many brunette bombshells (Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor, Gene Tierney)

Sometimes, I suspect the men-prefer-blondes idea was a concept that women created to explain their own insecurity, and to excuse changing their appearance.

I like both blondes and brunettes (and even some redheads), I just don't like that bleach blonde super tanned look that a lot of them go for

i think the whole blondes have more fun finally got to the blonds heads and thought they were better than everyone else..lol but yea I've noticed that I used to think I liked blonds but in reality its more for brunettes. hell I'm dirty blond but I have only dated 1 blond girl and that was for a real short time the rest have been dark brown. now what I find funny is the girls who were darkbrown they loved the fact I was blond. and so to me it makes me think that possibly we are in a stage where the blonds like the brunettes and the brunettes like the blonds

I don't think men really ever preferred blonds. I think some men may have believed the myth that blonds are easier to get into bed so they went after them.

But personally for me, I hate the fake look and can't tell the difference from a true blond and a dyed blond. Give me five minutes talking with you and I probably will be able to tell. But I prefer brunettes more so because their hair has more shades in them. It's more beautiful. I also like darker colors, my dream with is black or brunette hair with brown or green eyes. But ultimately, it doesn't matter. If I like the girl, I'm not going to dismiss her for hair color or eye color.

Men never really "preferred blondes". That's just a phrase, same with the brunettes. Everyone's different.

Indeed, you've indicated as much... one source of information was based on an impression of users of this site who voiced an opinion, the other source of information was from your knowledge of popular "myth."

It's a natural progression really. First men like one hair color, then a bunch of ditzes will dye their hair to that color and absolutely ruin its reputation, leaving men with the impression that there is a greater frequency of cute, clever, steady gals in other hair colors. And then women realize that men's tastes shifted and bring it up and boom, happens all over again.

True it is just a myth blonde's heard the myth and just assumed that guys don't like any other girl all the guys I work with I asked what do they like better and what and all of them had said brunettes because we are so stuck up and no offence well "stupid" I'm quoting them it not me saying this just because your Blonde don't think that every guy likes you it Ur attitude

It is indeed a trend. Of course something like that is a trend. And as with all trends, it is an illusion and a myth. I doubt if there really is much preference either way. Trends are so trendy. I don't personally get involved in trends. I like to look a lot deeper.

:) I'm brunette so I'm happy with that. I know growing up, I got a lot of that around me "guys like blonds" and the media-the media is horrible for that but they're getting gradually better representing everyone from different races, colours and and hair colour lol ;)

Most guys I know don't really care about the hair color, if it's blonde, redhead, or brunette. If the girl has a sweet personality and is pretty with a nice body (sounds shallow but guys most always look at the looks as a factor), then I'm sure hair color really wouldn't be a deal breaker. If a guy WERE to not go out with someone who is great & attractive, just because of their hair color, then that would be horrible. You never would know what you would be missing out on.

Men's previous primitive nature has made us believe that men prefer blonds- mainly because blond hair fades to a lighter colour as the woman grows older and is not as noticable as a brunette's gray fading hair because the blond was already light to begin with! but now because women have the liberty of colouring their hair- it doesn't really matter anymore lol.

I don't get why hair color is such an issue. Everyone has a preference, but I doubt many people would actually turn away someone they liked because he/she didn't have their preferred hair color.

Why is hair color so important anyway? I've seen some pretty blonds and ugly blonds, some pretty brunettes and ugly brunettes. If the girl is cute overall it shouldn't matter.

to be honest, I don't think it was every a predominant trend for guys to prefer blondes. yes, some guys prefer them, but I don't think preferences have changed. I'll bet the whole blonde thing blew up in the 40s when it was preferred by Nazis that people in general be blonde with blue eyes. then when the rest of the world heard about it, it became this legend that blondes are more desirable.
also there's that "golden locks, china doll skin, blue eyes = angel" thing. so then you have a metaphor, blonde = pure...which I why I'm not getting why that guy is saying that Megan Fox would look less innocent if she were blonde. I would think that the dark hair makes her look more mysterious and exotic while the blonde hair would just look really bad on her lol. either way, she's pretty good at NOT looking innocent.
