Not really to me. I have to admit I would be a little apprehensive if the guy was like 5'2 but I consider 5'6 average and not really that short. We would be about the same height so I wouldn't think he was too short. And he can't get mad when I wear heels.
Yes, you are short, not a midget yet, short! To me I can't accept a guy who's your height ( tried that meh, didn't work ! ) So, don't anyone tell me appearance doesn't matter, I thought that until the short guy came along, it was awful for me.. I don't want the tallest guy I can get but not anything close to shortness! I'm 5'6 my self..And I've asked and been told I'm a bit above average not that tall myself !
It depeneds on the girls preference. I generally like guys that are REALLY tall like 6'4 and up. But my cousin is only like 5'5 and his wife is like 5'10 so it depends, but I think 5'6 is a good height for a guy since a lot of girls are like 5'3 to 5'4.
Height matters if you're trying to change a lightbulb on the ceiling fixture. When it comes to everyday life and people's impressions of you, height isn't nearly as big of a factor.
Your external physical appearance is only a part of your overall impression. Having a good, strong personality, good sense of style, intelligence and plenty of other attributes can quickly outweigh whatever negative effect your height may bring. By questioning your height, you're already walking in the opposite direction from the confidence that you'll need to overshadow your physical stature. Be confident, be yourself, and be a good person. Doing that will make your height irrelevant in the eyes of people who perceive you.
