okay well over the weekend I bleached my hair by myself and it was a huge mistake. It looks so fake, its not really blonde its like an extremely bright yellow. I hate it! my friend in cosmotology said she can put a toner in it and she said that will help. But I heard that toner makes it white. I don't want white/platinum blonde hair. I want like a natural light blonde. What can I do without re dying it? is there a certain kind of toner I can use? please help

Update: my mom went out and bought me a hair dye, and I did it myself and it looks rlly good(: its a light blonde just how I wanted and its not fried and all. thanks for all the answers tho(:    11 days ago

why? I think your hair was more attractive as the color in your profile pic.. I have never found the bleached blonde look attractive and neither do any of my friends. if any blonde then would be dirty blonde.. but bleached blonde is really a truly ugly color for hair when it is not natural..

Answerer And your best bet like they said is go to a salon.. you already tried once and it didn't work.. so might as well bite the bullet and get it to look good. - 12 days ago

I don't like being touched by guys so I always get my hair cut by girls. Some of the stylist girls have told me how some girls try to do things by themselves and royally f***-up their hair. They come in with their hair wrapped up and break into tears because they can't fix it. Go to a hair salon. I assure you they have things you can't obtain and have the skill to fix your hair. It may cost about $30 but it's a small price to pay to get your hair fixed. Good luck.

Great! I'm glad it worked! So she got you the semi-permanent?

If you want to keep it this way, ONLY BLEACH YOUR ROOTS. You will fry your hair if you rebleach it. You will probably need to touch up on the toner/semi-permanent dye in about five weeks.

Well first it depends on the toner you use and you prob need to bleach it a little more or it will get the yellow out then pick the color you like

No no, get yourself to a salon and let them use the toner. It'll be a temporary fix, but hopefully you'll be able to sort it all out soon. The thing with bleaching that light is that is zaps the moisture from your hair, making it so brittle that any additional dye jobs can lead to hair breakage.

It'll help if you look up the proper way to dye hair at home. Websites like Cosmo have all kinds of info. In the future, listen to professionals when they say to NEVER dye your hair more than 2 shades lighter or darker on your own. Bleach is serious business, and leaving it on too long or too little can be hazardous to your look... as we've learned.

Plus, a salon will give you the best, most nature looking blonde that will enhance your skin tone and eyes. When it comes to hair coloring, you get what you pay for.

Best of luck!

Toning will help. The whole point of toning is to make the color look better by depositing another color. A semi-permanent hair color is a toner. This is what you need--not another bleach, which will remove color by damaging your hair. So MAKE SURE TO USE A COLOR-DEPOSITING TONER, not another bleach!

You are worried about making your hair white, and that will only happen if you use the toner incorrectly or if you use a toner that is a white color. Toners can make your hair lighter or darker.

Here are a couple of toners so that you know what to look out for at the store. You can pick whichever shade you want:

L'Oreal Tone Refiner Balancing Toning Gloss.

L'Oreal Color Spa No-Ammonia Moisturizing Colorant, Blonde 46

My advice is go to a professional if you can afford it though. And never bleach again!

Question Asker Thanks so much that was really helpful. I have two questions tho, 1. will the toner fry my hair or is it damaging at all? 2. How long will it last? because I want it to last a while - 14 days ago
Answerer The toner is a semi-permanent color. Semi-permanent colors deposit (put) stuff ON the hair to color it. This means that your hair will not be damaged. It's the same as putting a coat on to change the color of your body. Semi-permanent hair colors do fade, so expect to have to reapply in a few weeks. I usually go about 5 weeks before getting another application.

Your hair will be a little damaged from the bleach, so take care of it by using conditioner. Definitely don't bleach again. - 13 days ago
AKA_Kiwi And make sure you use REDKEN Extreme anti-snap it is really good - 11 days ago
