After seeing your photos you certainly fit most of the physical characteristics. I do photography as a sideline and have done a lot of portfolio work for a couple of beauty/modeling schools and agencies in places I have lived. Modeling is hard work make no mistake about it. Your life becomes an endless stream of constant personal care and constant physical evaluation. For runway models the mere gain of 3-5 pounds is tantamount to having a broken leg because it changes your size!
Somebody else answering said that the VS models are the rare exception and only the very VERY best rise to that level. I confirm that simply because you NEED to understand the work and self sacrifice that you will need to pursue that dream. The key word there dear is SACRIFICE. See, that is the part that the public NEVER sees. All we see is the glamor and the glitz. For every minute of glamor in front of the camera believe me there are weeks and years of complete dedication to being a model and almost total sacrifice of everything else.
Now... EVERY once of the VS models started out like you... stars in their eyes and desire in their hearts. They might not have had as focused a goal as you state but they did have that goal first and foremost in their every thought and action.
I would suggest you find some biographies of some of the super models and read them to get an idea of what this career path demands of you.
Good luck! You certainly have the looks for it! :)
First you need to become a model, then get under a managing company that works with companies such as VS, then if you're what VS is looking for (you're physically perfect) then they'll get you a modeling gig.
i do modeling, and you have to be well known and do a lot of modeling work to even be looked at by the company of VS... VS is extreme... only the greats go to VS... good luck, I'm sure you can do it... Look at Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum... both VS models...
They're currently holding a model search and if I am not mistaken, it's for the VSFS 09 airing this December. HOWEVER, to be a real VS model (or if you're aiming higher, an angel), you have to be a professional, rising model with the look that they're currently searching for (i.e. Doutzen Kroes for VSX, Miranda Kerr for VS Pink before becoming a full-fleged VS Angel, etc.)
Basically, if you're already making a name for yourself as a model and you've got what it takes, they'll notice you. And if they want you, they'll eventually try you out and/or make you an offer. I don't think it's so much as you approach them. If they want you and you have what it takes, they will approach you by way of your representation (i.e. agency/manager).
im a model and I can tell you now unless you're like SUPERHUMAN then victorias secret is a pretty ridiculous dream- not trying to be offensive but they are just the top of the top you know? i think you would have to be at least 5 foot 9 and have measurements along the lines of 34ins- bust, 24ins waist and 34ins hips- well not exactly them but along those lines if you're interested in modelling I suggest you get a few nice pictures taken of yourself, headshots and body shots, with little/no make up and some nicely fitted clothes, and then send them off to some local agencies with your other details, height, measurements, age etc good luck! :)
5'9"+ and a BMI of like 16.5 it's no different than becoming any other sort of model, except VS models are extra sultry and sexy looking in the face and have larger breasts and bums than most other high fashion models.
