Ok guys pretend you are a 15 year old boy. Ok so I take fashion class and we sew and stuff like that in there. I really enjoy that class but sometimes (and I know this is stupid but I like this guy a lot) I feel embarrassed because the guy I like is kind of athletic and I don't know if he thinks that is dumb.

What would you think? Do you like girls that know how to sew and make things, or does it not matter when you are 15?

I would care. I mean, I play baseball and girls that know how and sew can fix up certain things I want on my jersey. Like sewing on arch bands to the bottom of the pants and un-hemming the pants by sewing through other parts. Its neat. So I would give you props.

When I was 15 I would not have cared. These days I am inclined to think it's cool - a good hobby or skill. Sewing is definitely more likely to be thought of as something girls would do (no offense to any guys who sew - I can't, but even Rambo sews, granted it's closing a wound, but it's still sewing).

It shouldn't be a problem. If he makes fun of you for it, my guess is he's teasing you to get attention.

The 15 year old boy that you like may perhaps think sewing is dumb, but probably it's just the opposite. Boys, in general, find it attractive for girls to do "female" or "feminine" things, even if they don't admit it around their guy friends. Sewing qualifies as one of those types of things. Likely he thinks it's really cute that you take a fashion class and that you can sew. If you love it, keep doing it. Good luck!

I don't really think it matters, but at age 15, boys are dumb and they do make fun of things but that's no reason for you to stop doing something you enjoy. I enjoy knitting and have since I was about 10, not exactly the coolest thing in the world, right? My boyfriend doesn't enjoy knitting and he thinks it's "silly" to see me sitting there with my knitting needles and my yarn and all but it's okay, because two people don't have to like the same thing. Keep doing what you like, regardless of what a boy says, please.
