What do tattoo's mean to you?

Are they sexy? Are they repulsive? Is 1 tattoo ok? Would you like it if the guy had tattoos all over?

Well as soon as I turn 18 I am getting a few. Or more.
i think tattoo's are a way of expressing yourself and who you are. Which is great.
i don't care if a guy has tattoo's all over his body as long as its not something that he will regret later on in life.

It really depends on the preference of the girl. Personally, I'd prefer no tattoos at all.

Tattoos can be these amazing works of art that are absolutely beautiful and eye catching when they hold a meaning behind them (regardless of how old). I'm not a fan of the tribal and barbed wire tats - Ink should not be a trend, but a story.

If the ink tells me a story of where this person has been, where they want to go - then I think its quite sexy.

If its just another meaningless trend, then I'm not attracted.

No more than a couple of tattoos are fine for me. It also depends on where the tattoo is.

I think it depends on the person. Some people like it all over and that's there choice. Some like a few. And others just don't like them at all.. me personally, I don't care if the guy has tattoo's but sometimes if you do have tattoo's it just depends on the meaning behind it all...like my friend got a tattoo when her mom died, and its like this heart type thing but really pretty. So it all just depends on who it is, what it is, and what it means(i know some just don't have a meaning)

Well. It kinda depends on the woman! Some women like a bad ass and some like the pretty guy! It purely all depends on the chick you are going for! Myself I have 3 tattoos myself and I feel that tattoos are totally fine as long as they have some kind of meaning and not just to be there! Hope that kinda answers your question!

Ok, it depends what of. My ex had a ton of tattoos that were meaningless, I didn't like any of them at all, even when I was dating him. It was just a huge turn off and it made him seem kind of dumb and careless that he would get all these things put on his body for life just because he could get them for free from a friend.

My current boyfriends ex girlfriend is a tattoo artist, and she's given him his three tattoos. All three are sort of obvious, but just plain black, and they all have a meaning to him. I adore his tattoos and I adore that he just didn't get something for the sake of getting it.

I don't hate tattoos but the ones that are ALL OVER your body is something I can NOT handle. Its okay to have one tattoo. At the back or on the arm maybe. That's sexy for me! Lol

An all over tattoo just gives me the image of a "BAD GUY" and a definition of a bad guy depending on my diction choice. Would be someone who's kinda all over the place with his bad ass attitude. But that just my perspective.

In whole, I think tattoos are hot but they shouldn't be taken overboard.

Tattoo are awesome!
and it depends on what they are of when your asking if it's repulsive.
yeah, 1 tattoo is ok!
if you are implying like Travis Barker of Blink 182 and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte then yes it is okay. But however, it really depends on the guy too.

All-over tattoos are a little much, and it annoys me when someone gets a tattoo that has no real meaning. For example, when one of my friends got a tattoo with butterflies and hearts by her neckline just for kicks, on a whim, I was kind of annoyed. I mean, it's her body, but is she really going to want that there 5-10 years from now, let alone 40 years from now? Probably not. She just got it because she thought it was sexy and made guys look at her boobs. And honestly, she's pretty well blessed, so they did that already. ;P

On the other hand, another of my friends got a tattoo of drama masks on the top surface of his foot. He's huge into theater, always has been and always will be, I'm sure. The theater is his life, and I'm quite sure he's going to be a professional actor someday. I totally respect him for getting that tattoo. He thought for a long time about it, and got the tattoo to express his personality. In short, I guess, I love tattoos that have meaning to the person, but a tattoo the person got just for the sake of having a tattoo? Nah.

sparklesista Yeah I completely agree , tattoos that don't mean anything are pretty much a waste of time like you said you may change your mind in 10 years. I wanted a tattoo for bout three years but didn't get one until January. I thought long and hard and made sure it was something that meant something too me. I have butterflies intertwined with henna design on my spine. The butterflies symbolizes new beginnings, as I decided to go back to education and train for the career I always wanted to do= my new start - 4 months ago
Answerer Yeah, see, butterflies are cool if they mean something to you. Not like my friend who just thought, "Omigod, butterflies are like so cute! " LOL. She's a character. Your tattoo sounds pretty awesome! - 4 months ago

I don't mind tattoos actually, as long as they are not all over the body-thats a bit too much! But a few don't hurt, a friend of mine who also happens to be my ex has 3 and one is a big tribal design across his back which looks wicked. I have one myself of a henna design and butterflies at the top of my spine.

It really depends on the guy. If the guy is confident enough to pull off tattoos, then it's very sexy. If the guy had tattoos all over, so many that it couldn't be covered up at appropriate times, that's stepping a little over the line, but not repulsive.

I'm thinking about getting one on my arm or chest. It would be the coat of arms of my forefathers (my bloodline has "imperial guards" from Europe). I wouldn't mind a girl with a tattoo, as long as it's not a tramp stamp.

This depends on two factors:

1: What is the tattoo?
2: Does it fit well with the person who has it? (personality, looks, etc).

There is no real standard by which I judge whether or not a tattoo is good; it is purely on a case-by-case basis.
