I went shopping for a girlfriend one year for her birthday and everything she liked was ridiculously expensive! Why do girls like such expensive fashion?
Your girl sounds like a label addict. It's not that certain things don't come cheap, you have to know where to look. There's plenty of look-a-likes out there, it doesn't have to have some big name on it. If I truly wanted something that was expensive, I would save up my own money and buy it. Maybe, since it was her brithday, she felt entitled to more. She could have expensive tastes. She could be a gold digger but, if she is you'll be able to tell when you give her the gift. If it's similar but a cheaper version and she complains that it's not what she wanted, then she's a gold digger. If it's a string of pearls, it's a string of pearls wether it costed $456 from Tiffany's or $18 from Wal-Mart. Hope that helps!
I was raised to understand that money doesn't grow on trees, but sometimes my boyfriend gets annoyed with me when I don't want to take something that costs a lot. I think the best gift he has even given me was a necklace he got when in Thailand. It was before we were together and I thought it was absolutely the best gift he has given me even though it cost like 5 dollars. I shop at like the usual stores and go to the mall quite a bit, but I'm pretty sure I actual give more expensive gifts like clothing then I would ever pay for myself. It isn't always about the cost, but it does have something to say with the quality of the item also.
Please, I think you just have the wrong girl :o . I look for sales sales sales as long as the stuff is cute. Maybe she's just trying to make up for something she might lack no offense. I don't even ask men to buy me things I would get a job. Sometimes quality is expensive though but it just depends on the person. I know men who buy things I would never buy for the price.
Seriously though, it's really a girl to girl thing. Some girls like ridiculously expensive fashion and some don't (Although as a woman, I've found I tend to avoid socializing with the ones who like expensive stuff, they tend to be kind of petty.) I don't like expensive fashion I think it's silly to spend lots of money on clothes and such, when you're just going to wear them and mess them up.
I personally don't like gifts. They kind of make me feel like a jackass, because then I don't have something to give my boyfriend, and then I feel like I'm taking advantage of him.
Also, if you have to buy a girl expensive things for her to be happy, then you should find a better girl!
Lol. that just depends on the girl. i mean. I could sometimes like expensive stuff. But if my boyfriend asked me what I'd like him to buy me. I'd just choose something cheap. cause if not. That's just like taking advantage of the fact that he offered to get me anything I want.
I don't like expensive gifts. Especially clothes and jewelry!
I would hate for there to be an issue because I lost an expensive ring, or some b! +Ch decided to steal my necklace. Or I got motor oil on some ridiculously expensive shirt. Or tore a dress that costs enough to feed 50 villages of people!
I love heirloom pieces for gifts. Or even better, spend that money on something you can DO WITH me! Time is more valuable than money! Or donate to a cause I am passionate about as a gift!
I already told my H2B. If he gets me something expensive, I won't wear it! If it is gonna cost that much, it better be able to bring in the money to counter its costs!. Like a chop-saw. Or a kit to make my own jewelry that I can sell and/or keep!
The best gift I have received from him are the memories that we have made! He does spoil me, but the best CONCRETE gift he has given me was a broken, hand carved, pool stick that is as old as sin, probably worth nothing, that belonged to a long list of his relatives! That shows that he truly cares!
I don't really approve of super expensive gifts. Because it should be the thought that counts. Whenever my boyfriend gets me super expensive gifts ($1000 Vitton Bags) I always try to make him return it. I always thought that it is easy to just buy something pricey, then actually take time to give something thoughtful. But he always insists that I keep the gift and his reason makes sense to me now why guys buy expensive gifts he says that it is just as THOUGHTFUL! even more because he has to work the long hours for me! So in a way he IS spending time on me. So maybe a lot of girls think that way too?
The more expensive the clothes, the better the fit, the better the quality, etc.... USUALLY. There are definitely things out there that don't match their prices (who buys ripped jeans for $90 when I can buy then for $40 and rip them myself??), but as a general rule, you get what you pay for. If your girlfriend likes expensive stuff, then she has good taste! :) But steer clear of trendy stuff- she'll outgrow it faster than you can pay the credit card bill.
Me too - I will not spend more that $20 on any one piece unless it is really nice and going to last a long time...it just depends on how materialistic she is and if she has ever had to buy her own stuff. if she has never had to....she has no idea how much things actually cost she just likes what looks good.
Bullshit - I can't bring myself to pay more than five dollars for a pair of jeans. I'm thrift store most ofl the way, and I feel pretty damn hot in all of my clothes, thank you. I think there are few stupider activities than "shopping" for expensive clothes. and I'm proud to say that not all girls are like that. thank you.
