I've been spending $80 a month on getting french manicures/pedicures (the one where the white part of the nail is made to look super white) and I was wondering if guys even paid any attention to that stuff?

Sometimes I just go with the black polish and I once got a disapproving comment from a guy friend about it. Only once though.

I was just wondering if it was worth paying the money for.

If you feel they are worth the money and you like them go for it. Black nail varnish is pretty main stream now so I don't see why they would give you a disapproving comment about it. It's like this: I spend €350 on hair extensions to thicken my hair, when I have them out my guy friends say there is no difference, same with my girl friends but I like them so I'm willing to pay the money. So it's up to you don't let other people's opinions sway you from what you think. I do my french manicures & pedicures at home I don't see the need for the nail bar :)

Well, everyone wil have a different opinion on this, so here goes.

I LOVE girl's nails when they are done well. French is so clean and sexy! There isn't a color I don't like and yes, I DO notice when a gal has her nails polished to perfection!

Now, it really all depends on what YOU like though. Seriously, the heck with everyone else - do you like your nails looking good? Then that's is the right reason why you should wear them that way. A guy will not LOVE you for your nails (that's callled lust by the way), but he will be attracted to you when you are happy and comfortable with who you are.

Will great nails attract a guy's attention toward you? Maybe, it depends on the guy. Some men think it looks sexy and provocative, others think it means 'high maintenance'.

If you like it, then just do it - and enjoy it!

Just recently I found out that breasts come with faces, all I had to do was look up. Now you're asking if I care about your nails. Sheesh, women!

I definitely notice these things as it tells me that the woman takes care of herself and you can even read a bit into her style, e.g. elegant vs tacky, but I must say that it is a small part of the whole sum.

As long as your nails aren't filled with gunk, its cool. For me, I don't really care too much about nails as long as they are kept clean.

I get my nails done ever 2-3 weeks, and I have never gotten a negative comment about it from anyone. The lady that does my nails enjoys doing my nails because I'm not afraid to try something crazy. Right now my tips are red and I have black roses stamped over the outside edge of each nail. I've actually gotten a lot of positive reactions from everyone on my nails. It could just be that this one particular guy didn't like it, but if no one else has said anything about it, I wouldn't worry.

As for whether or not guys notice, I know a lot of my guy friends love my nails. This one in particular wants me to "test them out" on him, lol. And besides, you're not getting them done for any guy, you're getting them done for you. It shouldn't matter what they think. Right? Just my thoughts anyway.

i think guys care about nails. guys are getting manicures more and more. many of them know that good grooming sends a positive message and is very attractive. they are doing it themselves to attract women, so I think lots of guys are probably looking for the same good grooming in women.

I personally think that 80 bucks a month is a lot of money to be spent on nails. But that's not to say guys don't notice the manicures, yeah they probably do notice it. But, now days, the fake french manicure nails are found in drugstore for a lot less price, and even though they are not professionaly done, they still give others the same image as with manicures done in a salon.

I don't think its worth paying the money because 80 bucks every month is a lot to pay for nails. Why not spend it on clothes or shoes? I am pretty sure guys notice that stuff over the expensive manicures. However, that doesn't mean manicure/pedicure isn't allowed, It's good once in a whille.

How about doing manicures at home? Try different colors and designs to make your nails stand out. Take care of your nails with natural ingredients, which costs a lot less then 80 bucks, is effective, and is so much more easier.

Feel free to disagree, but this is just a one girl opinion.

Manicures aren't just for looks. they also help to keep your nail healthy. IE they cut out ingrown toenails, keep dead skin at bay etc. I think 80 dollars is a good price to pay to have healthy nails and pretty nails. You don't want your nails to turn yellow do you? And when you do them at home it's hard to make them look super perfect. I am sure guys notice nails (especially if you wear flip flops a lot). IN fact I have have some guys tell me I have nice feet whatever that means. So I think they notice stiff like that. They probably won't notice the quality of it, but that doesn't matter because underneath you have strong healthy nails because you go to a professional.

Wow. That sounds like a lot to spend every month on your nails. And I doubt most guys care eighty bucks worth.

I do my own pedicures at home every week or so, when the paint begins to need redoing. But I paint em red, which is a lot easier to do than french manicures.

Whatever you decide to do, do it because you like doing it, because chances are most guys won't even notice that you're going to that much trouble.
