In middle school and my freshmen year of high school it mattered A LOT to have the cloths I would wear on the first day picked long before the first day. Is this a normal girl thing or is it just me? Plus, do any guys do this?
I always buy a new outfit for the first day of school. YOu haven't seen your friends and classmates for a whole 2 ad a half months and chances are you have changed over the summer. New clothes are a great way to show off your changes. And even if you are going to the same school with the same people and same teachers the first day of school is always sort of nervous. Going to a first day you don't know what's going to happen, and knowing what outfit you are going to wear is something safe that you can plan on and you KNOW that's gonna be one thing that remains the same that whole day.
I don't think I, or many other guys have EVER cared THAT much about what people think to go out of my (or our) way to actually pick before hand what we're going to wear.
It's ludicrous. Human beings care far too much about what other human beings think or say or feel.
If you like to wear something wear it, don't wear something because you want to fit in or be popular. Siiiighhhh
Don't worry I always map everything out by clothes, shoes , accessories, hair and makeup but it could also be because school has a tendency to stress me out and I have stressed induced OCD.
I always buy myself new clothes for back-to-school. For me, its a whole new school year and I want to start it by looking classy and casual and feeling good about myself. It doesn't mean you have to shove on extra pile of make-up or dress all fancy, just a fresh new outfit that will get you some bonus compliments from your friends. I don't fuss over my outfit looking flawless but I do try to make it the best I can, I think looking clean and well made is a great feeling.
Just wear something appropriate for the weather and that you feel comfortable in. I never cared but fortunately as I am from the UK I had a school uniform. I am grateful for that because I didn't have the worry of what to wear (except on non-uniform days).
Wow, that was along time ago. Anyway, it is normal. Usually girls have more to match up, etc., but it could be the same for a guy. Also not being able to make your mind up quick with decisions could lend a hand to this. If you are comfortable, that is what counts.
