This may be a stupid question, but is there a difference between body spray and perfume?

I would say perfume is stronger, but other than that, what's the difference?

I honestly couldn't tell you. I'm sensitive to ethylene, an ingredient found in both, so I really can't be around people wearing either one. In small amounts it robs me of my senses of smell and taste, but if they pile it on, it makes it difficult to breathe around them.

Question Asker Wow, that's a pretty serious allergy. Most perfumes are too strong for me since a lot of them have a floral scent and I have environmental allergies, but body spray isn't as bad. - A month ago

Body spray is like beer: you use it whenever you feel like it.
Perfume is like 100 year old wine: you use it only on special occasions.

Perfume is designed to last longer on a body when spraying it on. But with body spray, it just stays on for a couple of minutes. You keep putting on. With perfume, you spray it once and go.
