Well, there could be lots of stuff you COULD give him. Try a cap or a shirt. Or anything you feel like giving him. It doesn't really matter. It's the thought that counts, right?
Seriously he is 23 and you are under 18 you said hanging out so I'm guessing that he hasn't even gone on a date with you... I hate to say it but would he even care if you got him something?? But if you do just a card and maybe a basket of candy or something but nothing more than that!!

If he into sports I would say treat him to a football, hockey or basketball game. A video game he's been wanting (we like guitar hero around here!). The equipment for satellite radio (xm or sirius).

I'd pick her up and we'd go to a Sushi restaurant around town that's far enough away that we can have a decent discussion about ourselves on the way there, but not too far that it feels like we're waiting to get there. We'd talk about what we do in our free time, and what makes us laugh. I'd drive her home while we switch of listening to our favorites kinds of music. Hug is fine, maybe a kiss.

I'm a very fun and outgoing person, and do and wear whatever I feel like and not what everyone else is doing. My life revolves techno and trance music, so you at least have to show interest in it, though not necessarily like it. It can be a bit awkward at first if I've never actually talked to you before the date but once we break the ice I'm a really fun guy to talk to and hang around with.
