We still don't talk, but we salute. Is this still considered no contact?

I was wondering. If we live next door, we don't talk but we salute each other when we see each other... is this still considered no contact? Or does "no contact" mean no kind of interaction at all?

  • That's still some level of contact. Not personal contact though but more so friendliness and keeping the peace contact.

  • I think it's like no contact. I can and I have waved at total strangers. That doesn't mean I have some kind of relationship with them in which we exchange actual words, and have a convo. So you should try and lead a conversation with her! ;)

  • You see someone everyday on your way to work or school, you smile / salute / acknowledge them everyday - would you consider that contact or no contact if you don't know their name or anything else about them :)
