I just got out of a long term relationship and I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps. I'm trying to meet new people and make some new friends, but that can't distract me 24/7. What helped you get through a rough patch?

Once I was pretty depressed. Someone that I look up to told me that depressed people all do certain things, like stay up late and take really long showers. He said to do the opposite of these things: I woke up at 5, took cold fast showers, exercised, ate well and went to bed early. If nothing else, with this I worked to better myself through healthy means. It helped me.
I also have to recommend writing or some other outlet. Get the thoughts out of your head. I wish you the best1
