Closure from abusive relationships how?

Is it stupid to write a letter to an abusive ex - given you are safe - for closure?

and if you come in a new relationship, how luch do you need to share about it?

  • Write it. External processing is real. you don't have to send it either.

Talking about it with current partner... ask them. Varies, may be upsetting.

  • I would send it anyway. You don't lose anything.

    • Coming into a new relationship, I'd be really reluctant to share , to be honest. It's not like not everyone knows any abuse is wrong and should be avoided at all costs

What Girls Said 2

  • Write it, but don't send it. I did that with mine. It gives you the closure without starting up something new that can hurt you more.

When I enter new relationships I tell what I'm comfortable with after a little while, most of the time it will come up in conversation about previous relationships.

  • Waste of time. You should write it, if it helps you but sending it would be pointless. Move it along.
