He's seventeen and I'm fifteen. Should I go through with it?

Hi, so I've been talking to this boy I met in school for a while now (three months). He's a seventeen year old senior and I'm a fifteen year old sophomore. I told him that I liked him but he hasn't said it back directly but he does like me. We had our first kiss weeks ago. We talk almost everyday but nothing really changes and nothing is awkward, we're completely comfortable with each other.

I sometimes think he's afraid of the age difference, but then again when he turns eighteen, I turn sixteen in less than three months. I also looked up age consent laws, the relationship would be completely legal.

Should I continue talking to him? Or should I just give up all together?

  • I don't think that age difference is a big deal, it's only two years. Maybe you should ask him to see if it bothers him

  • Right now it's okay because you're children but when you turn 18 he might get arrested if someone doesn't like him! LOL

What Girls Said 3

  • consent laws ONLY apply to sex. there are no laws about dating. dating him would not be illegal when he turns 18.

  • Not really a big deal. That's just a 2-year gap.
