As long as she is tactful when necessary, then, yes. I'd rather hear the truth, even if I don't like the truth, than to be lied to (including white lies or through omission). But manners and "time and place" are still important.
If one of us was sweaty and stinky (from working, say), I have no problem with the other saying "you stink - go take a shower" if we're alone. But if other people were around, then this is something that should be said privately, not publicly. That's being tactful.0
