How do you know whether someone likes you more than just a hook up?

If a guy wants you for more than sex (i. e., for a relationship), then he'll be angling for a relationship - he'll want to take you on dates or hang out with you and talk with you, etc. He'll ask about how you feel about relationships, what you want in the future, etc. He will be thinking longer-term at least some of the time.
If all he's thinking about, talking about, or wanting to do is sex or sex-related things, then he is NOT looking for a relationship - JUST SEX. If every conversation turns sexual, then it's JUST ABOUT SEX.
And just to make it clear, if he has you in the "just sex" category, it's almost impossible to move to the "relationship" category - and if you've already gotten sexual with him, that last remaining chance is already gone.
If you want a relationship with a guy, you have to make it clear, VERY early on, that you don't get sexual outside of committed, official relationships, and any attempts by him to do so need to be shut down by you immediately. This way, YOU control what happens - either he gives you the relationship, or he gets frustrated and moves on. But this only works if you're willing to let guys who you might find VERY attractive walk away, which many girls can't seem to do, even when she knows he only wants sex from her. They'll be in denial and lie to themselves that they can change him or that he really wants a relationship - but he won't change and she'll just end up getting hurt.1

As long as those calls and texts aren’t late night booty calls, it’s a good sign when he can’t seem to get enough of you. This means he really wants to get to know you and not just know your body. He may not call you every single day, but he will try to contact you at least several days a week.
After all, he wants to date you, not drive you away. When you start talking every day, you’ve definitely got a potential relationship on your hands.
Or either If he’s interested in dating you, he’s going to ask you questions, such as what you love to do in your spare time, what foods you like and don’t like, what your favorite music is, and even what you do for a living.
These are all questions that help him learn more about you and give him clues on how to plan better dates.
Wishing you the best of luck.0
