I hate arguing but it happens sometimes not a lot, but when it does we both get very upset and end up not talking after that. What do you do to get over the argument and not overthink?

I tend to overreact and overthink during an argument. I exercise or read until I've calmed down , and wait until I'm thinking more rational. Then I meditate on how I could have dealt with it in a better way. I focus on the other person's view, and try to reason on their point as well as my own.
