  • Because the stupid media makes a big deal out of falling in love and they exploit it to gain attention.

  • Because dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that regulates your pleasure and reward system. Just like a drug, when people log into their social media accounts they feel a surge of dopamine. That surge of dopamine or pleasure is addictive and it will make you want more and more. However, that feel-good moment won't last long and when its gone they will direct their attention to something new. That's how fads are born! then when that fad dies or becomes unpopular a new one is born. With that new fad, you'll feel happy for a while (or not, it all depends what you like) until you don't. If you let yourself get addicted then you'll want more and more of that brief feel-good moment.
