Is meeting the parents casually really as big a deal as people make it out to be?

Especially if the parents are his neighbors?

  • It is terrifying for a guy when he's a teen. As adults it is just a courtesy and no big deal at all. Meeting the parents is a GOOD sign for an adult. It means a person is ready to commit to that person. A guy will only let a woman meet his mom if he thinks she's a keeper. This is no myth, It is true.

  • Meeting the parents way back used to be so important but at this day and age meeting the parents is something most people do before dating at this point. Teens need the parent approval and Adults really should make sure the woman is liked by their family. If the family doesn't like her something may be off...

  • If it's spontaneous, then no. It doesn't mean much. However, if he asks you to meet them in advance, especially if it's to go out to dinner with them, then yeah, it's at least a sign of interest.

And by spontaneous I meant if you go somewhere and they just happen to be there.

  • no it's not, in that specific scenario no. Almost zero effort was put in by the parents.
