Why aren't there any good movies being made these past few years?

Everything sucks.

What Guys Said 4

  • i hear you. it seems like most movies now are super heroes and heavy action now, or a comedy with the same group of people over and over again. it's a sad time trying to find good movies now, even the independent studios aren't releasing nearly as many good movies as they did in the 90's (the heyday of indie movies).

  • Good movies have been hard to find for quite some time, mainly because the studios are afraid to take risks. Movies are expensive to make; in 2007, the average movie cost $100 million to produce and market. That was AVERAGE. So the studios want to make movies that will bring in a lot of money, even if they're really lame.

This past year, I thought "Ex Machina" and "Kingsman" were good.

    • agree kings man was a great movie

    • Also, Mad Max: Fury Road. Great movie!

    • 'the studios are afraid to take risks'- that's it in a nutshell right there.
