Most Helpful Guy

  • Mark Tremonti. Hands down, one of most talented guitar player out there today. Sorry dude, but Tremonti would run laps around Zakk Wylde. Literally, all of his songs and all of his solos sound exactly the same.

    • I wasn't expecting that but good choice
Also yes a lot of black label songs have a similar tone and tremolo but!
He's a big session player and he kinda invented his own playing style
      So gonna disagree there

What Girls Said 5

  • Josh Farro is sick
He's the reason Paramore is as famous as they are
Although their current guitarist Taylor York is also like a god, schooled by Josh, that's what you expect.
Michael Clifford is amazing af too, he may be in a more poppy band, but he's truly something

What Guys Said 7

  • Steve Howe and Eric Johnson. Guitar player magazine has a poll every year polling best bluegrass, best classical, best jazz etc guitarists. They also have a best overall catagory. These two have each been voted best overall 5 times and are in Guitar Player magazines Hall Of Greats and can no longer be nominated for any catagory. There's only one other guitarist in the Hall of Greats and that's Steve Morse. What's significant is these are actual guitar players that do the voting

Really suprised with these danm awesome answers

  • Hendrix, Dimeola, Matheny, Blind Blake, John McGloughlin, etc. I have a vet long list. Not big on shredders and scales. Needs to be thoughtful and melodic. Chet Atkins had it in spades.

  • Neil Schon and Steve Lukather were a couple of the finest power ballad soloists ever in my opinion.
