For those GAGers who are music loves and music historians, do you think the Blues music genre would have still existed today had it not be for the?

rough life of African-Americans during the Slavery era when they used to express their emotions through their blues lyrics?

For those who don't know the history of Blues, the music genre originated from West Africa (minus the emotions behind the lyrics) and African-American slaves singing in groups.

  • Don't know. I'm not a huge fan of music in general (I either like something or I don't, no specific genre, if it makes me feel some way I like it, but I don't like a ton of stuff) but I do like blues. The tradeoff certainly wasn't worth it, but it's very possible that without slavery there would be no blues.
