  • I'm with ya, man. I'm an 80's child and I love 80's music since I grew up listening to it.

90's music was great also but in terms of overall impact, I'd give the edge to 80's music. So many great artists and so many great music during that decade.

  • The 60's.
It's a tough question, but I say the Sixties because it was the bridge between lovely, classic music like Doo-Wop and Oldies and the newly invented, lively and electrifying Rock N' Roll music. Essentially the turn of the century in music, at least in my opinion.

    • I see that as late 60's early 70's in my opinion. A great time for music indeed.

  • Hmmm, I like a lot from several decades. Though, I'm partial to the 90's and 70's because my three favorite artists are from the 90's and several of my favorite songs and the 70's because I love a lot of Queen's earlier music and it was made in the 70's. If I had to choose, I'd say the 90's bc 3 artists plus my favorite songs is slightly better than Queen :') and other awesome bands like Led Zeppelin and the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

    • I don't know why you would ever say this? I know a guy who's a musician and a millennial. He hates today's music - the music of his generation. He says most of today's newer music is either fake music or trashy noise. I turned him on to my whole 1960's and 1970's collection. He loves it. He'll hears the difference and he'll never settle for less again...

    • @castratedwhiteguy That is his opinion, and I have mine!

  • 60s. You have the best pop music ever made (The Temptations, the Beatles) to killer soul (Otis Redding, Sam Cooke) to classic country (Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline) to epic rock (Jimi Hendrix, Stones) to folk (Bob Dylan, The Byrds).

You could literally fill this text box with amazing bands from that explosive decade.

What Guys Said 24

  • I do quite like some of the popular music of the 90s (i. e. The grunge movement bands, Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind etc.) but I like the metal scene more of the 2000s. Hmm, tough choice. I suppose I'll go with 2000s, but just barely. Some early 2000s had some decent alternative rock as well. I like various songs from each decade, but 2000s is my favorite.

  • I narrowly pick the 80's over the 70's.

The 90's had some of the best music of all time, true, but the whole decade was the beginning of the end.

If it wasn't for Dystopia coming out this year, we'd all be living in caves, eating worms by now...

  • The 1970's were the best decade for rock music. Black Sabbath wrote the book for what would become today's death metal. Also, the first 6 Sabbath albums set a standard of excellence that no hard core band that followed them has ever matched, or will ever match. Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Yes, ELP, Genesis, King Crimson, Rush, Moody Blues, Sntana, Jrthro Tull, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, Jackson Brown, Elton John Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Diamond, etc.,. all at their artistic peak of excellence. Such a great mix of complex progressive rock and lovely ballads that actually came from the soul. I's been all down hill for popular music since 1980, when music videos and MTV compromized musical creativity.

    • Hey, some great music there.. Beatles, Monkees, Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

    • Don't forget Roy Orbison, the greatest singer who toured and influenced the Beatles :D.

  • Tough. There was some pretty sweet music from the 60s - 90s. I've been on a grunge kick, I'll say 90s. Got Pearl Jam- Ten on now, hard to say anything else.

  • That's a good question. I'd say between the 70s and 90s (including the 80s) - despite not being alive in any of the 70s and the early 80s.
