This is a tendancy I see here in Europe: when I was young you would see all kinds of patterns on ladies from any age. These were ranging from vertical lines, to flowers, to polka dots, birds, just anything.
In the last 15 years or so, the polka dots, flowers and other shapes seem to have gradually disappeared.
And in the last 5 years, I'd say that girls revert more and more to the standard sheer hose: from white over skin colour to brown or black. Agree or is this a wrong impression?
I still see/wear all sorts of patterns, including polka dots, birds,...

I still see/wear patterns but no more polka dots, birds,...
Oh lol I guessed that it's Hans and it's really you haha.
Okay so the thing is... yes. They're not just gradually disappearing but they're almost disappeared. I think it's because of three reasons :- ●Girls now prefer to show skin instead ●Pattern covers the skin. So, they prefer plain pantyhose. ●Introduction of leggings and yoga pants.
I wish it was still in fashion. I liked it but alas.
They have tons of them in store. Well at least they did in the fall and winter. Now that it's summer you won't see them so much because it's almost too warm most days to wear them.
However, I think if someone isn't wearing them usually it's either they don't want to or perhaps the patterned ones are a bit cost prohibitive for them. I was looking at some pretty patterned pantyhose and the price was almost double what plain ones were.
Patterns were in style of a short time and I do not think they are completely out of style or anything but I think tights are still in. Tights are not sheer pantyhose they are thicker. I think sheer hose are completely out of style and is kind of a "grandma" thing now.
I think those are pretty 90s. I wore a few pairs when I was in high school because my mom got them on sale, but I preferred the ones without a pattern. Also the thicker ones because hello, Canadian winters.
