I have a decent six pack but I get a little flab once in a while (ya know when you can pull the thin layer of skin up and down). I do ab workouts and play basketball at least every other day.
I sweat a lot and am pretty much all over the court. I play point guard and I love to run and cut.
Is basketball a good way to work toward my ideal body type?

It's definitely a tool to burn off the fat. Your diet has a lot do with it as well, but since I don't have a six pack, I'm not the expert.0
