if you are just starting out, be careful with weights, you shouldn't do them every day. Your muscles need time to repair themselves, so only do them every second day. If you have never used gym equipment before, you should either take a class to learn how some of the machines work or ask someone at the front desk if there is a trainer there who could help you figure things out. You need to know how the machines work for safety reasons and also just because they can be extremely confusing to someone new to a gym.
If you are trying to lose weight, drink a lot of water, eat 5-7 small meals a day, do a lot of cardio and make sure resting times between exercises are short. All that will speed up your metabolism and help you burn more calories.
