Are the height measurement tools at the doctors usually NOT accurate?

I went to the doctors office today and I got measured. They told me I was a half inch less than what I thought I was.

So I went home and measured myself and sure enough I WAS the height I thought I was: a little more than half an inch taller than what the doctor told me. Has anyone had a similar experience? I do know that I measured myself correctly. thanx

  • What about shoes/socks? That would be the easy answer.

The doctor measures people every day; don't you think that measurement would be more reliablel than one you do yourself, which, you know, is usually a little difficult to perform?

How exactlyt did you measure yourself?

  • Does it matter? The heel of your shoe would give you another l/2" ...

I'd worry about more important things. Hugz.

  • Seems like it. I know I'm 6'2" almost exactly, but the doctors say I'm 6'1". Yet I'm taller than my 6'1" friends.
