Have you ever made fried potatoes?

Have you ever made fried potatoes?

I did it last night for the third time. Its really easy to do and you don't even need a deep fryer just a good skillet and a lot of canola oil.

  • Hmmm, as in french fries? I've never made them cut like those you made, BUT they look delicious. I've been making baked potato wedges lately. So damn good.
Potatoes are life, so, I've made homemade mashed potatoes, twice baked potatoes, fries, wedges, cheese stuffed potato balls, hash browns, etc

  • It's easy. You can also make good fried potatoes by boiling them for a few minutes (stop before you'd normally serve them as boiled) and then throwing them in a pot or pan with oil and browning up the outside a bit. I did that last night.

Or even better: get some little new potatoes, or chop up a big one. Throw into a pyrex dish. Toss with salt and pepper so they're coated. Stick in the oven at 200C for at least 30 minutes, until they are soft and crumbly. Give them a stir every now and then to stop them sticking.

When frying them in a skillet without much oil, it's a good idea to use recently harvested tiny potatoes and add herbs to them. Delicious.
