How much food do you eat in a day?

I seriously struggle eating 1,000... whenever I track my meals I'm shocked at how little of calories I eat but it's sooo much food. It's not like I feel hungry.. I usually feel full.

  • Probably about 2000-2400 on a typical day, and it's barely enough, I really should be eating about 2500-2700 because I struggle to maintain a healthy weight. But like you I always get full and it feels like I ate more than I actually did. Maybe we have small stomachs.

      Well I'm 5'11" and 140, which I wouldn't call "really skinny" but if I don't work out and intentionally eat more than I feel like eating, then yeah I get really skinny.

  • I'm about 3,500, but some days I swing as high as 4000. I swim, and 99% of the time I'm stressed out, so I burn a lot of calories

  • If I don't watch what I eat, I'll easily go over 3000 lol. Probably to 4000 really. But I've been watching what I eat for a while now. Lost about 40lbs so far. Having trouble getting more than that 40 though, I keep going up and down lol. I need to count my calories super specifically rather than eyeballing it like I did for the first 40. I got about 50 more to go.

  • Eat rice or wholewheat bread.

    I try to eat more than 3000. Ideally I want between 3400-3600 because I exercise a lot and I'm tall so there's a lot of calories that I burn through. But yeah I almost never eat enough.

      Less than 10 grams? That's so intense. Does that 10 grams include fiber/vegetables?

      Is there a special medical reason why that number is so low? (Diets start to become ketogenic below about 75-100g of carbs per day; once you hit about 30-50 g/day of carbs, depending on yr weight, further reductions have no additional effect on ketogenesis, blood lipids, insulin regulation etc)

      @redeyemindtricks Oh, yes, the goal of the strict regimen is psychological reinforcement. Most mornings, I do not eat breakfast but I do drink a cup of coffee with half and half. When I check my urine for ketosis, I am never above a moderate level.

  • i try to stay below 2000 calories (since I don't really do a lot of sport.. and by not a lot i mean none at all haha)

    but food is so tasty! :D its a real struggle

  • Around 2000, work out a few times a week to stay fit. Don't understand why girls refuse to eat a healthy amount... Somewhat disturbed by the poll results so far, people are supposed to eat around 2000 cal per day...

  • I struggle w my appetite. Some days i will eat and some days i have to force feed. I've only had two slices of pizza in the last two days. I went to a restaurant yesterday and after i ate a few bites i stopped. can't wait till my taste buds start kicking in, im rather weak at the moment.

      That and I've been busy with work and school. I don't like breakfast and I have my first meal around 1 or 2 pm and I don't eat after 5 pm.
