  • Vegetarians are down for the cause, while vegans tend to be fad followers. I stopped eating meat 41 years ago. because it was the correct thing to do. While the rules tend to be a bit scattered for some though... a REAL vegetarian won't eat anything derived from an animal.

  • Vegetarian doesn't eat the animal. Vegans don't eat anything or use any products that come from animals or take part in animal "exploitation". For example makeup products that had animal testing first. A hardcore Vegan would not use that makeup product for that sole reason. It's a far more intensive outlook and lifestyle in comparison to Vegetarian which is just a dietary shift.

  • Vegans don't touch anything that comes out of animals or derived from them at all (also tend to be more militant and in your face about veganism) whereas a vegetarian just doesn't eat animal meat.

    • Can't find anything that would be healthy in 2017 lol

    • yeah, its hard, but good sourses of protein can be found in organic peanut butter and organic beans. Always research organic co. though, as their parenting company might be a big corp like kellogs or deans and so on. Those assholes get sneaky, lol.

  • I think vegans don't do products from animals like mills and cheese. But vegetarians do.

  • What everyone else has said plus (and this is just to piss off vegans) there is an even more selective breed of vegetarian: those who will not eat any root veggies because that involves killing plant.

  • vegan is a 'level' of vegitarianism
some vegitarians still eat fish, or eggs, or cheese/milk products
vegans only eat plants or plant products.

  • A vegan will not eat anything to do with animals, which includes meat, poultry, fish, dairy, eggs, honey or gelatin. A Vegetarian eats no meat but may eat fish eggs & dairy. That's the basic difference but there are many variations.
