When coffee supposedly has more caffeine than an energy drink?

B vitamins in energy drinks assist the metabolism. In particular, B12.
In fact, here is a good tip:
If you drink too much alcohol and believe that you will get a hangover, then drink about quart of water (you may have to do it over a few hours) and take a B Super Complex vitamin. The water and B vitamins help your liver oxidize the alcohol more quickly. I haven't had a hangover in over 25 years since I learned this.0

Energy drinks tend to contain a higher dose of caffeine than coffee does. They also have a lot of sugar (unless they use sugar substitutes instead) so that provides an energy boost in itself.2
