What Guys Said 13

  • Not bad fights, but right fights. There's actually a way you can "fight" that is supposed to help out a marriage pretty well. How you deal with fights are key to lasting marriages. Another way to put it is this: A marriage without a fight is like a bridge that has never carried a load. It has never been tested, so you have no idea how it'll respond to stress. The actual "bond" has never been tested.

Passion is boosted with sex. Yet for whatever reason, women seem to value sex a lot less after a certain age, while a man's continues. And I think we are quick to call the man's rising libido some sort of failure to mature. Like she matured "beyond sex" while he is still adolescent in his ways. This is essentially the basis of the midlife crisis. He might be more likely to cheat if his sexual needs are unmet, ignored, or especially ridiculed. Continuing the physical intimacy at this point is key to ensuring the passion continues.
