Motorcycles have always been associated with some sort of bad-assery. This goes back to James Dean "Rebel Without a Cause" and Marlon Brando in "The Wild One", where driving a bike just seemed so carefree and guys had a screw-the-world sort of mentality.
Nowadays, all I see on motorcycles are old people. This includes old women. The days of driving a bike and being a free-spirited youth back in the 50s-70s are gone. Now, people who are able to afford bikes and the safety courses that are often mandatory now to go along with them, are old people with money, and the desire to do something they wish they had done in their younger years. Check it out: next time you pull up to bikes at red lights or see them pass you on the roads, take notice of how many of them are senior citizens now.
They still try and capture that badassery, but how badass can one really be when they're 65 years old and are slight-framed, and wear a leather jacket and chaps that weigh more than they do? Old people aren't fooling anyone when they get on a bike. They just look like old farts on bikes. It's not the youthful thing it once was. :)0
