I need help with a problem in math please?

so yea im trying to create a calculus equation or function using a graph like this for example. Im use to solving problems like let f (x)=x^2 + 2 and so on were the function is given but how do i create a function from a graph like this if the function is not given. does any of this make sense maybe i said it wrong.

    • its not an exercise from a book or anything its mostly for my own knowledge like if im trying to find the rate of change of a normal graph and stuff but i dont remember being shown what to do if the function is not given i know how to create a graph if a function is given but not the opposite

    • Sorry man... no good at it

  • You probably need to make an approximate line and find the equation of that. Excel has functions that do the approximations and give you the line equation.

    • well im trying to find the rate of change of this graph for example

    • This graph is not continuous you will not find a rate of change. You need to approximate it into a continuous funciton

  • thats 13 year old stuff :P
