Why do people say don't break your neck when warning you not to fall?

Is that what commonly breaks when you slip and fall?

  • Because they don't care about your arms or legs..

But they don't want to deal with you if you become a quadriplegic

What Guys Said 3

  • I think it is a manner of speaking.

Similar too "Don't break a leg!".
I doubt breaking your neck is that common when falling. It it were true, slipping and falling would be considered much more lethal.
